The AU Arts Festival was held at Golden Tulip Hotel in Accra.

Mr. Kojo Ampah Sahara who chaired the event emphasized that," it's been a two years journey, a journey targeted towards promoting the use of arts and culture as a medium to drum home to the rest of the world, our contribution to global civilization as Africans."

He  said, as a foundation, we are very proud and elated to have no other celebrate than the  Great Giant H. E. J. A Kufour, 2nd president of the 4th Republic of Ghana whose achievement in  both private and public life, we believe towers among his peers by far in Africa. Under the theme :Leadership, Africa through Arts, celebrating former president John Agyekum Kofour, 2nd president of the Republic of Ghana. A three days Arts Festival will seek to highlight the African experience with a focus on leadership."

The capitation Grant, metro mass transit, national health insurance scheme, successful re-denomination of the Cedi, oil discovery, the dramatic improvement of the living conditions of the average Ghanaian, are some of the land mark achievements in the Kufour era that historians are more interested in, but as a generation, we revere him for giving Ghana it's second independence,he said."

We immensely thank you for opening up our country and more so for giving us the opportunity to live and grow in freedom without fear of intimidation. Thank you. The opportunity to work together with the JAK foundation towards raising 80 million Ghana Cedis is also very much appreciated your Excellency. It is our hope and prayer that through the works on exhibition here from today to Sunday, Ghanaians, Africans and the world will remember the period before your government, the time you served as the president and draw inspiration from the many selfless choices you made to open Ghana up, and usher is to 21st century as a lower middle income country."
