Wayoosi accuses Ebony of stealing hit song from Ruff and Smooth, Sarkodie

Kumawood actor, Joseph Nana Osei Kofi, popularly known as Wayoosi has accused dancehall artiste, Priscilla Opoku Kwarteng, known in showbiz as Ebony Reigns, of stealing a song and passing it off as her own.

The 42-year-old actor revealed that Ebony ‘stole’ a song made by Ruff and Smooth which featured award-winning rapper, Sarkodie. He added that Ebony’s song, “Hustle” was not an original song but rather a remake of the old version.

The comic actor urged the “Date your father” hitmaker to come out to clear the air over the matter so as to put to bed any accusations that might come out of the allegation. Wayoosi pleaded with Ebony to come out to reveal if the song was paid for or if the original makers of the song requested for money from her.

He said that the issue bordered on the case of copyright since she was not the ‘first owner’ of the song. The actor bemoaned the fact that the issue was not being discussed by the regulators of the Ghana Music Industry. He however praised the “Poison” song-maker for her talent and admitted that the “Hustle” song was a good tune.

The Kumawood actor cited the example of Sarkodie who came out openly say that some of his songs were written for him by Akwaboah. Wayoosi has starred in over 50 Kumawood-produced movies alongside some of the industry’s greats. He took ill some months ago but has recovered fully.

The actor revealed that he attended King’s College and became a painter by profession. He added that he had made a lot of money from acting stating that he owned a car and also had a pub of his own. Wayoosi considers Pastor Lord Kenya as his role model because according to him, he shot to fame after he joined the former musician’s dance group.
