I have not been banned Osei Palmer

Executive Committee member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) Osei Palmer has clarified that the ethnics committee of the GFA has only warned him to mind his public utterances and not banned from granting media interviews as the media speculates.

The iconic GFA member has been sternly warned in a ruling of the GFA ethics committee over certain comments he passed about the Black Stars and their world cup qualification chances as he laments over Ghana's failure to secure a ticket for the June tournament, which in the wisdom of the GFA regulatory body, were misguided and unfortunate.

"I am surprised at the media reportage regarding the ethnics committee ruling, the ruling I was given is quiet different from the reportage in the media", Palmer said on FOX 97.9 FM.

" The ruling warned me about my behaviour which admittedly, the committee described as improper ,and secondly ordered me never to repeat such utterances, and to apologize for my improper behaviour ", he sought to clarify.

Asked whether the sanctions will repel him from making public comments about the GFA and its activities, Palmer maintained he will never be discouraged but will continue to 'defend the GFA' in all situations.

" I will never be discouraged from speaking about the GFA, I will continue to defend the GFA on any day and whenever deemed fit", Palmer assured.

Media reports earlier claimed Palmer had been barred from granting media interviews about the GFA and its related issues, which is equivalent to an outright ban but Palmer has strictly denied the claims.

For the records, Palmer's comments had suggested that the GFA could have paid some monies to certain officials to aid the Black Stars to qualify for the Russia 2018 FIFA world cup finals, and these comments are the reasons he finds himself in hot waters.
