Ministry of Gender,Children And Social Protection had a discussion on productive inclusion strategy which is the theme  at FIESTA ROYALE HOTEL in Accra at Dzorwulu.

Hon.Otiko Afisah Djaba who is the Minister for Gender,Children And Social Protection in her speech said, "I am very delighted to be here this morning to welcome you all to this very important meeting. My ministry is very much appreciative of your acceptance to participate and contribute to the discussion toward developing robust social protection systems."

According to her the THEME for this meeting is" EMPOWERING PEOPLE THROUGH PRODUCTIVE INCLUSION: the strategic role of social protection". She said, this theme is very crucial since it is in tandem with the vision of H.E Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo towards promoting inclusive development."

Hon. Otiko said,"Everybody will agree with that social protection has become conventional wisdom and a strategic tool towards eradicating extreme poverty. Many countries are developing more reliable mechanisms that will guarantee sustained exit from poverty (extreme poverty.

Hon.Otiko Afisah Djaba explained that,Even though Ghana has made significant strides towards poverty reduction, about  8.4% (2,200,000 Ghanaians) of Ghanaians still live in situations of extreme poor and vulnerability (GLSS 6 report). Imagine a Ghana having the contributions of these 2,200,000 extremely poor people adding their quota to the national development. This is on the heart of our Administration. As a country, we aspire to have inclusive development and achieve the sustainable development goals particularly, goal 1 which aims at ending or (drastically reducing)poverty by 2030,there is therefore the need for us to adopt pragmatic strategies to enable us realize our mandate."

In conclusion Hon.Otiko Afisah Djaba made it cleared that, "As a Government, we are committed to ensuring a sustainable way of eradicating poverty. We believe that the only way to sustainably eradicate poverty is to empower the vulnerable to enable them actively engage in economic ventures which will permanently lift them out of poverty. The NPP Government does not want to leave anyone behind in our progress towards development. "
