Board of Ashanti Gold SC are set to enter into partnership with an entity over running of the Obuase based club to revive their financial muscles.

The 4 times premier league champions have experienced a drastic retrogressive  success following the almost collapsed mining activities of club owners Anglo Gold Ashanti, making it extremely difficult to stay in competition.
Ashgold in 2017 league season struggled to finish the campaign above the drop zone, thanks to the timely hiring of former black stars winger CK Akonnor to take over the coaching steer from Bashiru Hayford.
Club CEO Cudjoe Fianoo, who doubles as chairman of the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA), is said to have met with the club management on Tuesday to inform them about the decision of the board to sanction a partnership deal with two business men, reportedly the Ghana National Petroleum Company (GNPC) boss and ex Asante Kotoko chairman, Dr. K.K Sarpong, and the bank roller of division one club Akyeken FC.

The deal, when sanctioned, shall allow the above named persons to own shares in Ashanti Gold SC and assist Anglogold Ashanti to run the club and bring it back to its glory days.

According to deep throat reports from Ashanti Gold SC, the partnership will see certain members of the management laid off, with CEO Cudjoe Fianoo leading the list.
Fianoo who has been with Ashgold for the past decade, can only boast of two official titles; one premier league title and one FA cup which the club won after finalists Hearts of Oak refused to honour the the final match.

Reports from closed sources to Ashanti Gold SC indicate, that the board has asked Cudjoe Fianoo to hold on with any recruitment exercise till the partnership deal is finalised to determined the next direction of the club.
Cudjoe Fianoo   has however denied having any meetings with the board nor management but welcomes any takeover or partnership proposal.

"I'm in Accra, I have not met with the management to discuss anything", Fianoo said, speaking to FOX 97.9 FM.

" The issue of Anglo Gold Ashanti looking for strategic partnership to run Ashgold has been in the system for over ten years now, and personally if I meet any investors of such I will lead them to Anglo Gold Ashanti ", Fianoo said in response to the partnership deal reports.
