MINISTRY OF TRADE AND INDUSTRY INAUGURATED NINE (9) BOARD MEMBERS

The ministry of trade and industry had inaugurated nine (9)board members,  on the 11th October 2017 at their office in Accra to supervise the ministry.

These are the board members inaugurated for Ghana Trade Fair Company.

Hon. Allen kyeremateng (Minister of Trade and Industry),led the board to swear.

Hon. Allen kyeremateng expressed that, This company has gone through an evolution. It started of as a GHANA TRADE FAIR CENTRE and it was manage by TRADE FAIR SECRETARIAT which was hosted in this ministry. Some time in April 1997,it was convected into Ghana trade fair company as limited liability company,he said. But before then, it transition from the Trade fair centre posted by Government, as state enterprise. But it also still private enterprise company limited by shares,which means that, effectively as board,you are required to  operate this company on some commercial basis.

Hon. Allen Kyeremateng emphasized that, I have no doubt in my mind that,the corrective experience of you as board members will be brought to bare on the operation of the company. He said again, importantly you are being appointed to the board of this company at the very critical time the development history of our country.

The Government steered headed by our ministry   has gone a very ambitious program for  industrial transformation. The Government want to industrialize our country and He want to build  Ghana into modern industrialized nation.

Hon. Allen Kyeremateng expressed that, within the context of this industrial transformation Agenda, there are number of things that I believe this particular company can do to enhance the success of industrial transformation agenda,he said.

1) This company can play a critical role to promote made in Ghana goods.

One of the program pillars of this transformation agenda is to enhance domestic retail trades to show case Ghana Trade fair company limited, that it's Ghana leading agency in organizing exhibition and fairs. I cannot see any other organizations in our country weather public or private that has the capacity, power and experience to be able to promote made in Ghana goods. It only when visit some of these exhibitions that you can see some of the products, he said.

Secondly,is to promote Ghanaian manufactured goods in international market. We are suggesting  to you that, your role go beyond just managing the trade fair centre. You are suppose to exhibit Ghanaian goods outside the boarder of the country.

Last but not the least, Is to expose Ghanaian business community goods  and services that you can use in their
production process as raw materials or even to import and sell as finish coat, he said.
