INSTITUTE FOR DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE (IDEG) TRAINED SIXTY (60) PEOPLE TO DEAL WITH DEMOCRATIC ISSUES IN GHANA

On the 29th September 2017,Institute For Democratic Governance (IDEG) organized a workshop to Training  sixty (60) people across the all TEN (10) regions in Ghana at( IDEG) office at EAST LAGON to deal with democratic issues in Ghana.

Professor ATSU ARYEE, (The Political Scientist and Senior Research of IDEG) expressed that, The program organized by IDEG was a Training of Trainers to 57 districts.

He said, if they want to reach out the whole 260 districts through out the Nation they cannot afford it.

So they brought the 60 people to train them to enable them to understand local Governance reform  the IDEG perspective and so that they can deprecate what IDEG is doing here at the other districts, because IDEG hasn't got the resources to move round the country.

Importantly, it's also the fact that  they are meeting the communities, other levels of the public, because the public need to understand the benefits of the reform.

Professor Atsu said, if they don't understand, they will go no vote, and when they go no vote, it means that we are stack to what they are doing now.

But the yes vote means that ,of cause the  reform, like the election of the MMDCEs, election of ASSEMBLY members and Development becoming the center of politics at local level and everybody will understand it. So the benefit of the reform must understand.

We need people who will go out there and advocate on behalf of IDEG,that was why these 60 people were selected from the nation wide to the job.
