Dutch-born defender Derrick Luckassen pledges international future to Ghana

Dutch-born defender Derrick Luckassen has chosen to pledge his international future to Ghana, rather than the European country.
The 22-year-old, who plays for Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven, has finally decided to feature for his native country after remaining tight-lipped on which country to represent.
Luckassen, who has played for the Dutch youth teams, has confirmed his desire to play for the Black Stars.
”My father and mother both come from Ghana so why not if the opportunity comes I’m ready to honor it and do my best for the country," he is quoted by
”Though I was born and raised here in Amsterdam, I won’t hesitate to play for the Black Stars despite representing Holland at the U17, U20 and U23 levels. I am ready to play for Ghana."
He will follow in the footsteps of Malmo FF midfielder Kingsley Sarfo, who marked his debut for Ghana in their 0-0 stalemate against Uganda in a 2018 World Cup qualifier earlier this month.
