David Luiz Lashes Out at Alvaro Morata for Scuppering Goal-scoring Opportunity

Chelsea's David Luiz was furious with teammate Alvaro Morata as he trudged off the field after the striker's interference denied him a goal-scoring opportunity only moments prior to his substitution.

Luiz was on a blistering run into Roma's half in their Champions League clash on Wednesday when an offside Morata took it upon himself to take the ball off him, squandering the goal scoring chance for the Brazilian who was visibly less than impressed with the Spanish striker's involvement.

The Brazilian was soon substituted from the proceedings and unceremoniously let his feelings known to Morata as he trudged off the field gesticulating wildly and screaming at the 24-year-old as he made his way to the sidelines.

The defender was infuriated as he was denied the opportunity to score his second goal of the evening following his opener in the 11th minute, and it was a largely frustrating clash for Chelsea as an entire unit as they scuppered a two-goal lead despite seemingly being in complete control of proceedings.

Eden Hazard had doubled the Blues lead before Manchester City's old guard came for vengeance as a goal from Aleksandar Kolarov and a quickfire double from Edin Dzeko saw Roma take the lead.

Hazard saved Chelsea's graces as moments later he ensured the Blues were on level terms with his deft header, ensuring Antonio Conte's side remained at the top of their Champions League group table.
