The Accra Markets Limited, will begin the reconstruction of Kaneshie market lorry station terminal within the fourth quarter this year. Grader is expected to hit the ground with blade any moment from now.

Speaking in an interview with the secretary of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) of the branch, Mr.John Marful-Sau, he indicated that they have reached an agreement  with the  management of Kaneshie Market Complex for work to begin soon.

“passengers find it difficult to walk in the station during rainy season because of it’s muddy nature and this has resulted in some  drivers parking their cars by the road side which is also the cause of traffic on the main road”. He added.

According to the secretary, the deplorable state of the station has always been a nightmare to him and the Chairman of the branch as many people will say the station is not in safe hands.

Mr. John Marful-Sau said the project will kickstart soon but their fear is the intermittent rain fall but he however assured commuters and drivers that work will commence  as soon as the dry season begins.
