Bayern Munich confirm the signing of Madrid’s James Rodriguez

Bayern Munich have confirmed the signing of Columbia international, James Rodriguez, from real Madrid, on a 2-year loan deal with an option to buy in 2019 for €35m.
The player will sign for the Bundesliga champions when he passes his medical this week.

Rodriguez,25, has been frustrated by the lack of first team action at the Bernabeu and is looking to enjoy his football once more by joining Carlo Ancelotti’s Bayern Munich.

“FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have agreed on the transfer of Colombian national player James Rodríguez to the Bundesliga on Tuesday. The two clubs agreed on a two-year loan transaction until June 30, 2019 with the following purchase option for FC Bayern Munich. James Rodríguez will sign his contract in Munich after successfully completing the compulsory medical check.” Statement by the club.

The club chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, was delighted with the capture and revealed it was coach, Carlo Ancelotti who sanctioned the deal.

“We are very happy that we were able to make this transfer happen. The signature of James Rodríguez was the great wish of our coach, Carlo Ancelotti, after both had already successfully worked together in Madrid.

“James is a versatile player. It is self-dangerous, prepares many hits and shoots great standards. With this transfer, we have been able to raise the quality of our team without question.” Rummenigge added.

Rodriguez has made 111 appearances for Madrid, scoring 36 goals and making a further 41 assists since joining Real Madrid in 2014.
