No Plastic Eggs In Ghana-FDA

The Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) has denied the presence of widely circulated plastic eggs on the Ghanaian market as reported in the section of the media.

Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Food and Drugs Authority (FDA), James Lartey debunked the claim indicating that post market surveillance on the presence of plastic eggs has proven otherwise.

He revealed that investigations revealed that the supposed plastics were actually rotten eggs as a result of poor preservation methods adopted by the sales outlet.

“We have conducted extensive investigations into the report and it turned out to be a hoax. I can assure you that there is nothing like plastic eggs”, he revealed.

James Lartey appealed to the public who may find out something strange in the eggs they purchase on the market, to report immediately to the Food and Drugs Authority for action to be taken  rather than circulating them on social media to create fear and panic.

Various videos in recent times have been circulating on social media about purported to plastic eggs but the FDA said the claim is absolutely untrue and asked the public to treat it with the contempt it deserves.
