Hungarian Government in collaboration PURECO LTD have dedicated to construct a standard water treatment facility in some parts of the country starting from the Western Region. The group with the help of regional hydrologist, Rev. Gustav Djokoto went to areas prone to flood in the metropolis namely Market circle, Apremdo Sallamkrom, Tanokrom and Adakope.

Export sales manager of PURECO, Balaz Varga in an interview with media stated, that the company is conducting a visibility analysis of the drainage and sewage system in the metropolis in order to come up with proper solutions.

Assistant site manager of landfills Waste Management, Raymond Otoo disclosed that the sewage management has started the construction of the sewage treatment plant to curtail the challenge and disclosed that efforts are being made to speed up the construction. 

According to Rev. Djokoto, the drainage system is outdated and does not have sewage treatment facilities and for that matter does not meet world standard to curb the sewage problems the city is facing and urged that there should be reassessment of the drainage system in the metropolis.

The Ambassador of Hungary, Andras Szabo said they want to understand the challenges that the metropolis is facing in terms of sewage and drainage systems and that they want to help construct the project that would help solve the challenges, he added.
