CEO of Uber, Travis Kalanick resigns after pressure from investors.

A group of investors heavily demanded the resignation of the CEO on Tuesday amidst growing concerns over the future of the company.

Kalanick succumbed to the request of the investors because of his love for the company.
“I love Uber more than anything in the world and at this difficult moment in my personal life (losing my mother) I have accepted the investors’ request to step aside so that Uber can go back to building rather than distracted with another fight,” Kalanick

The board lauded the commitment of Travis to Uber in a statement.
“This is a bold decision and a sign of his devotion and love for Uber. By stepping away, he’s taking the time to heal from his personal tragedy while giving the company room to fully embrace this new chapter in Uber’s history.”

This year, Uber have been hit with among others, sexual scandals, lawsuit from Google’s Waymo self-driving car unit on intellectual property theft, video showing Kalanick arguing with a driver.

Kalanick, the co-founder of Uber in 2009 will stay on Uber’s board and still control majority of voting shares after his resignation.
